White Dust From Air Vents

White flakes powder coming from the air conditioning vents model e90 e91 e92 e93 3 series vehicles produced from may 31 2006 to september 9 2007 situation the customer states that at times white flakes or powder comes from the air conditioning vents.

This dust is being made in your car. However it could be problematic for some people. The dust can also be found in the air conditioning vents tucked up against the windshield and on the front of the passenger window trim. My guess is that the problem is not dust coming through the ducts but coming in from around the ductwork and pulling dust into your living spaces from the attic. The evaporator is made of tubes covered with aluminum fins. Cause the cause is surface oxidation of the evaporator in the heating and air. It is not coming from outside the car or the cabin air filter would stop it.
